 
															West Midlands Strategic Real Time Information Programme was set up with the goal of making real time passenger information accessible to public transport users through the west midlands region via electronic displays at bus stop, mobile apps, SMS service and via websites. In order to increase the attractiveness and ridership of buses as a congestion mitigation measure, the bus traffic light priority scheme was implemented in Coventry. The idea behind the scheme is to ensure that buses are more likely to get the green light at Traffic Light Controlled junctions such that journey time is improved. The scheme was rolled out to over two hundred buses and 72 junctions across Coventry. The scheme also include about 5.2Km of dedicated bus lanes with gates to help buses jump the queue ahead of other traffic.
